Introduction:
The Town of Hanover is available to assist in economic development consistent with its comprehensive plan. While continuing to support a viable agricultural industry, the town also encourages housing development opportunities as well as commercial development along the Routes 5 & 20 corridor.
Infrastructure:
The Town of Hanover is committed to the maintenance, repair and improvement needed to keep our highways safe for residents and visitors. Water districts and sewer districts serve the residential concentrations within the town as well as commercial businesses along the Routes 5 & 20 corridor.
Long Range Plans:

The Town of Hanover has just completed a water improvement project that replaced, repaired and upgraded the water lines within the Water District located along Routes 5 & 20. This current water district includes the areas from Barone Drive, along Routes 5 & 20, and the residential concentrations known as Hanford Bay, Sunset Bay and Irving.

 

 

Zone / Incentives / Grants:

The Town of Hanover is a participating member of Chadwick Bay, Inc. Chadwick Bay's mission is to revitalize and develop the Chadwick Bay Region's economic base, recreational uses and housing improvements. The primary focus in their initiatives is to create jobs in the area. Hanover has joined in an effort to revise and resubmit a Local Waterfront Revitalization Program to the state in an effort to create economic development along Lake Erie.

 

Within the Town of Hanover specific areas have been added to the Dunkirk/Sheridan Empire Zone. The Empire Zone assists in economic development by enabling businesses to qualify for tax credits, incentives and utility savings. Current Empire Zone businesses within the Town of Hanover include Petri Baking Products (Silver Creek), S. Howes, Inc. (Silver Creek) and Bailey Manufacturing (Forestville).
